As entrepreneurs, we suffer from imposter syndrome on a regular basis.
I hate to say it, but essentially there is no way to avoid imposter syndrome. At every level in business, there's a new mindset mountain we have to conquer. But one that I can't seem to escape since I've started is the feeling of lack.
As we take up the online space, we tend to doubt ourselves and second guess our paths almost every moment. There may not be a permanent escape, but there are amazing resources to help you ignore your inner critic. And today, I'm going to give you 5 tangible tools.
Starting with... the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
The Dunning-Kruger Effect is the comparison of the highs and lows of the horizontal end of the graph being your confidence and the lateral being your knowledge. The overall idea is that the longer you are in your business the more confidence you will have.
For example, if Sam starts his business in 2019 and has very high confidence but his knowledge is low, and as we said the longer we are in business the more knowledge we have and aware of what we have to do. So when you are experiencing Imposter Syndrome, your confidence tends to be low even though you may have more knowledge and have been in the business for some time now. So once you get over this idea then you will see your confidence grow.
Many times it can be overwhelming as you are in your business and you think of all the things you need to do such as a strong marketing strategy or a mailing list, and your confidence will start to decrease when you become overwhelmed.
So how do we combat this?
Ignoring your inner critic is a practice. Thankfully, you have the rest of your life to practice this. ♥️
